Modern casino slot machine games are controlled by a computer, and the winner percentages are preprogrammed into the game software.

Casino slot machine games have Random # Generators which are continuously generating combos, even when the game is not active.

Running in unison with the random # generator of the casino slot machine game is the payout per cent.

The pay out percent controls how much the slot machine game will payout, for e.g. the pay per cent could be ninety percent, meaning the slot game will pay 90% of all the bets played, and the casino simply gets to keep ten percent.

This does not mean that every time you bet ten credits you will receive 9 in return – where’s the fun and thrill in that? Instead, the casino slot will not payout for a little while, and then suddenly jump on a hot streak and you might draw the big jackpot prize.

The pay off percentages shall vary between the differing games and several of the very popular casinos, for example Golden Online Casino, which puts forth a payout of up to ninety five percentage!

This means that, in essence, the one-armed bandit takes all the dough played into it and pays it out to a number of chosen winners. The casino only gets to keep a considerably tiny per cent of all the gambles placed.

Slot Machine positioning

Volumes have been said on this topic, and the controversy and discourse about where the "hot" video slots are placed in a casino are still there – more than sixty years after one armed bandits were first added to the gaming floor in the casinos.

The quintessential rule is that the more favourable slot games were positioned just inside the main foyer of the casino; so that individuals walking by would see real jackpot winners and be convinced to come unto the gambling floor and play. Our deduction is that this is definitely no longer the case.

Most of the major casinos nowadays are titanic complexes and you no longer can see inside from the sidewalk, so there is no longer a reason to situate the ‘loose’ slot games close-by any doors.

Another classic rule is that loose slot games are positioned on the major aisles in the casinos, again so that more persons could see winning jackpots and be motivated to play. Notably though, we find that this also isn’t a universal rule any more.

What casinos found over the years is that people walking down the busy aisles were frequently on the way to somewhere else. If they played slot machine games at all, they would simply put in their loose change because they happened to be walking by. Win or lose, they would very often not stop to keep playing. And the last thing a casino wants is for someone to win a jackpot by playing only a few coins and then not stay to put it all back in!

Today, casinos are constantly changing their philosophy about where to place the loose slots.
